The town's Galpharm Stadium is home to the Huddersfield Town's division one football team and Huddersfield Giants Rugby team, which has enjoyed recent success in the Super League. Local sports clubs, stunning golf courses and unrivalled outdoor leisure and watersport facilities are on the doorstep for a positive lifestyle outside of work.
Its breathtaking scenery provides the backdrop for many TV series, and is known as Bronte Country on account of its inspirational affect on the famous literary sisters. Three of England's national parks are also located on the town's doorstep - The Yorkshire Dales, The North York moors and The Peak District.
In addition, the local council, Kirklees, is one of the top performing councils in the country as judged by public watchdog The Audit Commission.
